As a new teacher, I find that I can feel isolated in my own classroom. One thing that forces me to think beyond my classroom and get connected with people outside my school site is the SLANTBox Exchange hosted by Jameson from Lessons with Coffee. If you haven't signed up for one of these exchanges before, you are paired with a teacher (sometimes two) for the monthly exchange. You spend the month emailing and getting to know your partner. Liebster Award
As a new educator, I felt that I needed a place to capture my educational journey, connect with other teachers and push myself to reflect on my teaching experiences. I decided to jump into the world of blogging, and surprisingly I am sticking with it. I was talking with my husband about blog post ideas, and low and behold I got an email that was exciting. I'm hoping that 2015 is just as memorable. To start the year, I decided to link up with Farley at Oh Boy 4th … [Read more...] about Currently: January 2015
Fourteen in 2014: Looking Back
I still cannot believe that it is truly the end of 2014. Time is slipping by too quickly. With that being said, I decided to launch my new blog a tad bit early with this year in review and look back with 3 pretty amazing bloggers. Here is a look back at 2014. This year, I have been focusing on being kind. The students in my classroom this year have struggled with being kind, and often default to being mean and harsh with both … [Read more...] about Fourteen in 2014: Looking Back
